The Essence Of G

My Roots

My name is Grant E. Loveless, known in professional spaces as G.E. Loveless (he/they/sis).

I am an Austinite, born & raised in Austin, Texas, with a foundation built by my mother from Trinidad & Tobago & my father from Mobile, Alabama.

Growing up in a nurturing & safe environment with my family, I embraced both my Afro-Caribbean heritage & AfroQueer identity, exploring both masculine & feminine aspects of myself.

From the time I was 16 years old & enrolled at Manor High School, I knew I had an unwavering energy to create & advocate—being sustained by engaging in people & projects that I fell in love with from just the concept, especially when the goal was to amplify the voices of those who were bullied or without a community on campus. This passion drove me to become a creative entrepreneur/producer & writer in transforming social media into a launchpad for social impact.

My mission is to curate spaces that celebrate complex, creative, & misunderstood identities like my own. My roots are meant to be admired & celebrated, reflecting growth & expansion.

As you journey through this page, you will discover & understand my why.

Work Experience & Impact

Alongside my role as Founder with The Essence Of G, I have been employed by companies ranging from non-profits to public involvement firms, honing my skills in community engagement, creative strategy, multimedia production, & program management.

In both full-time & contracted capacities, I have consistently created & pursued opportunities that allowed myself, my peers, & the community to amplify awareness & impact across various fields.

Over the course of 7+ years, I have leveraged my lived & professional experiences to become a thought leader, public speaker, & change agent in diverse spaces both online & offline.

Echoes of My Success

Trish Welch, Director, Career Services (Austin Community College)

“Mx. Loveless has always been an amazing student, leader & thought leader amongst their peers. They worked for me & ACC for two years & they developed strategies, events & programs as well as content that supported & uplifted students. For me, I do not see youth represented well in my city (Pflugerville) & just to see G.E be a revolutionary at a young age in Austin, Texas & Manor, Texas inspires me & how I interact with students needing my services as the Director of Career Services.”

Rocky Lane, Co-Founder (Black Transgender Leadership of Austin)

“One of the most focused & active student leaders & advocates in the Central Texas region. I often need Grant to support student leaders’ initiatives for my organizational work in community engagement. A kind human with a powerful spirit. Has built inclusion into the Black community & beyond in way that were difficult for other major organizations to create.”

Roslyn Caldwell (Manor ISD)

“He has done so much work with youth, students & integrating them into the community with his/their projects, developing workshops to enhance their professional & academic skills as well as being a great resource & connection in ATX.”
